About Mothers Many

At the heart of Mothers Many is a simple desire for connection — to ourselves, to our children, to one another, and to nature.

Our Story

Hi, I’m Laura — the creator of Mothers Many.

I’m a mother to three kind, sweet little boys who fill my days with love and laughter. I’m also an early childhood teacher, with many years of experience working with young children. When I’m not with families, you’ll usually find me outside — pottering in the garden, creating with my hands, or tending to our chickens, compost bins, and worm farm.

During my first postpartum experience, my husband and I moved interstate, away from family and friends. He worked long hours, and I found myself feeling lonely and longing for connection. I joined a mother’s group and, while it wasn’t perfect, it became my lifeline during those early weeks and months. That experience planted the very first seed for Mothers Many.

After the birth of my first two children, that seed began to grow as I immersed myself in learning about birth, motherhood, and the postpartum period. Just before falling pregnant with my third son, I completed my postpartum doula training, further shaping the vision for Mothers Many.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

Sustainability guides every decision we make. We thoughtfully source resources that tread lightly on our planet, collecting from nature only in small, respectful amounts. Many of our materials are handmade — including play dough, fizzy potions, and sensory mixes — using ingredients from reputable sources with minimal or zero packaging.

Wherever possible, we use recycled materials, and we partner with businesses that share our commitment to sustainability and regenerating our Earth. Our hope is for children and families to experience the beauty of nature in a way that feels joyful, gentle, and accessible.

“No one will protect what they don’t care about, and no one will care about what they have never experienced.”
— Sir David Attenborough

Our Vision

Mothers Many is more than just another playgroup. Our vision is to nurture a deep love and respect for the natural world through meaningful, holistic, nature-inspired experiences.

While our sessions are designed with children in mind, they are equally for mothers and caregivers. We believe that when adults feel supported, connected, and seen, children thrive. Mothers Many exists to gently rebuild the village — a place where families can slow down, form genuine connections, share stories, and feel less alone in the early years of parenting.

Our gatherings offer space for conversation, friendship, and community to grow naturally, alongside unstructured play and nature immersion. Here, relationships are nurtured just as intentionally as children’s curiosity and creativity.

My hope is that you come for your children, but stay for the connection.

The “village” may look different to how it once did — but perhaps, together, we can build a new one.

With love,
Laura
