When children join our sessions, they slow down, they play, and experience connection — with themselves, with nature, and with others — in a nurturing, immersive environment.

Nature & Messy Play Sessions

For children aged 6 months–6 years

Held on Wednesdays during the Queensland school term, these sessions offer rich, open-ended play experiences inspired by the natural world.

What to Expect

For your child
Two blissful hours of nature-inspired play, including art and craft, handmade play dough, fizzy potion play, clay building, painting, small world play, simple science experiments, and plenty of open-ended sensory exploration.

For you
A relaxed, welcoming space to slow down, connect, and enjoy watching your child explore at their own pace alongside other families.

What to Bring

  • Sunscreen and a hat

  • A spare set of clothes and a towel (for wet or messy play)

  • Insect repellent

  • Water bottle and snacks

  • Raincoat and gumboots (for rainy days)

Location

Sessions are held at the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.

In fine weather, we gather under the jacaranda tree at the bottom of the hill behind the rotunda (near Fairymead House). There is ample parking throughout the gardens.

In rainy or particularly hot weather, sessions move to the rotunda area. Both locations are close together and easy to find.
