School Holiday Nature Workshops

For children aged 3–8 years

Held on Mondays and Wednesdays during the Queensland school holidays, these workshops run in place of our usual weekly sessions.

Each session explores a different topic connected to nature, our Earth, and sustainability, offering children meaningful opportunities to learn, create, and connect through hands-on experiences. All sessions are thoughtfully facilitated by a passionate and qualified early childhood teacher.

What to Expect

Engaging, creative workshops designed to spark curiosity and care for the natural world. Whether we’re learning about beneficial insects and building bug hotels, or decorating pots and planting flowers, each session is carefully planned to be informative, creative, and lots of fun.

Children will create something to take home at every session.

What to Bring

  • Sunscreen and a hat

  • A spare set of clothes and a towel (optional)

  • Insect repellent

  • Water bottle and snacks

  • Raincoat and gumboots (optional for rainy days)

Location

Sessions are held at the Bundaberg Botanic Gardens.

In fine weather, we gather under the jacaranda tree at the bottom of the hill behind the rotunda (near Fairymead House). There is plenty of parking available throughout the gardens.

In rainy or particularly hot weather, sessions will be held under and around the rotunda.
